A pair of special effect contacts is a must for any decent Halloween costume. But there are such a lot of on offer - which lenses are actually spectacular and which are a waste of money? See what costume contact lenses are available and how to decide on the brand that is best for you.
There are two major types of halloween contacts - round ( normal shape for contacts that only cover the coloured area of your eye ) and scleral costume lenses ( covers the whole obvious portion of your eye, leaving no white obvious ). There are semi-scleral lenses - they are larger than the standard ones, but some white is still obvious at the corners of your eyes.
If you're not extraordinarily experienced with color contact lenses, it is best to go with ordinary ( round ) lenses. All special effect lenses are absolutely opaque. Unlike some color contact lenses, costume lenses are similarly acceptable for light eyes and dark eyes - they utterly mask your natural color anyhow. The center of the lens is mostly clear, so you can see. If you want vision correction, you should be thrilled to know that some Halloween special effect contact lenses, like Wild Eyes and Crazy Lenses, come with corrective powers. If your vision is perfect, you can just get plano ( nil powers ) lenses.
What Halloween special effect lenses are on offer?
The range of computer effects lenses designs is amazing. You'll find anything you want, from classic hot red or pussy eyes to frost, Dune or Alien designs. The most popular and exciting looking lenses are halloween scary wild eyes ( which you can get in yellow, red or white ) Vader, Wolf Eyes, Black-outs and White-outs. You may also get lenses with the trademark of your favourite sports team or symbolic prints like smiley face or stars and stripes.
And if you've got your own design in mind you can order custom-made contact lenses. There are several corporations online that employ contact lens artists to form individually painted lenses. Of course, this kind would cost a lot and you'll have to put your order in advance.
