The character is played by Cassandra Peterson, who has performed as basically no other character since the introduction of Elvira. She was in the Fellini semi-auto-biographical flick, Roma, in the seventies and was a member of the LA based Groundlings (of Pee Wee Herman Fame), but really what this-now 58 year old-woman is known for is her portrayal of the ever sexy, Elvira.
